History of NSA
NSA was founded in 1973 by Cavett Robert CSP, CPAE, who had a vision for an organization where professional speakers could convene to improve their presentations, exchange ideas and share experiences. Cavett felt that everyone involved in the speaking profession would benefit from growing the number and quality of professional speakers. Since it was founded in 1980, NSAHouston has been an organization of experts who speak professionally. It is a dynamic group of speaking professionals, a community where the pursuit of knowledge and the sharing of ideas is a way of life. NSAHouston offers learning opportunities, friendship, participation, and growth. With us, you’re never in business alone.
Our membership consists of full-time and part-time speakers, keynote speakers, seminar leaders, corporate trainers, executive coaches, independent trainers, workshop leaders, consultants, and authors.
Recognitions-The CSP Designation
Established in 1980, the CSP is the speaking professions international measure of speaking experience and skill. Fewer than 10 percent of the speakers who belong to the International Federation for Professional Speakers hold this professional designation.
The CSP designation is conferred by the National Speakers Association (NSA) and the International Federation for Professional Speakers (IFFPS) only accomplished professional speakers who have earned it by meeting strict criteria. CSPs must document a proven track record of continuing speaking experience and expertise as well as a commitment to ongoing education, outstanding client service and ethical behavior.
